Ingredients
- Idly rice - 1 cup
- Channa dhal - 3 tblsps
- Thoor dhal - 2 tblsps
- Urad Dhal - 2 tblsps
- Coconut - 1 tblsp
- Methi seeds - 1 tsp
- Poha - 5 tblsps
- Asafoetida - 2-3 pinches
- Red chillies - 5-8 nos
- Salt & water - As needed
- Curry leaves - 1sprig
- Oil - needed
- Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
- Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
- Ginger - 1 inch piece finely chopped
Method
- Soak the methi seeds, poha, rice and dhals separately for 3 hours.
- First grind red chillies, salt, asafoetida, coconut and curry leaves, then add the methi seeds and grind for 3 minutes, then add dhals and grind for 5 minutes and remove it in a bowl.
- Now, grind rice to a coarse paste like rava. Let the batter be thick.
- Lastly, grind poha and add it to the batter.
- Let it to ferment.
- Temper with oil, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, ginger.
- Make kuzhi paniyarams and serve hot with peanut chutney.
