Ingredients
- Urad dhal - 1/2 cup
- Channa dhal - 1/4 cup
- Red chillies - 15 to 20
- Cumin seeds - 3/4 tsp
- Sesame seeds - 1 tsp
- Asafoetida - 3 pinches
Method
- First fry channa dhal, when it is half fried then add urad dhal and fry.
- When urad dhal starts to change its color then add the remaining ingredients and fry again until both the dhals changes its color to reddish brown.
- Cool it completely.
- Mixie it to a coarse powder by adding salt.
- Store it in a air tight dry jar.
- This goes well with idly, dosa, uthappam and gunta ponganalu.
